“Road Trip to History” featuring African-American History of Jefferson County

….we believe there is more African-American history in Jefferson County, West Virginia than any other place in the nation.

Oak Tree Productions LLC, a West Virginia video production company, has had the honor of producing for Virginia and West Virginia PBS a documentary series entitled “Road Trip to History.” Each half hour program features the history and culture of a different town or region in Virginia and West Virginia. To date, Oak Tree Productions has produced 24 programs with 6 programs featuring West Virginia history; Charles Town, Romney, Martinsburg, Shepherdstown, Moorefield and the African-American History of Jefferson County.

On February 18th, 2010, Governor Manchin and the West Virginia State Senate honored Oak Tree Productions PBS program “Road Trip to History” the African-American History of Jefferson County and the Jefferson County Black History Preservation Society with a State of West Virginia, Senate Resolution # 29. The resolution, presented by Senator Snyder, Oliverio, Barnes, Unger, Kessler, Foster, Plymale and McCabe recognizes the accomplishments of the Jefferson County Black History Preservation Society.

On March 15th 2010, from 8PM to 9:30PM, West Virginia Public Television, during their pledge drive, will air two “Road Trip to History” programs featuring first Shepherdstown and then about 8:40PM the African-American History of Jefferson County.
